Saima Usman

Saima Usman has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the art industry. Saima currently works as an Independent Artist at Transit Kulturinkubator since 2021. Prior to that, they co-founded AdzSpec in 2020, where they served as a Concept Artist. In 2017, Saima worked as an Art Curator at Artworks Lab AB, and in 2016 they were a Guest Curator at Botkyrka konsthall. Saima also has experience as a Konst Pedagog at Mångkulturellt Centrum in 2015. Before transitioning to the art field, they worked as a Textile Artist at Eskilstuna Gamla staden from 2011 to 2014. Saima's earliest professional experience was as a Textile Designer at Kohinoor Textile Mills Ltd.(Raiwind Division) in 2007.

Saima Usman has a diverse education history spanning various institutions and fields of study. In 2004, they obtained a Master's degree in Textile Design from Hajvery University, where they specialized in this specific area. Saima then took a break from their formal education before pursuing further studies. In 2016, they attended Konstfack University of Art Craft and Design in Stockholm for one year as part of a postgraduate program in Curator Lab, focusing on Art Curation projects. Continuing their artistic endeavors, in 2022, Saima enrolled at Stockholm University of the Arts for a brief period to pursue a degree in Artistic Research, specifically concentrating on Interdisciplinary Art.
